Alpha GPC (L-alpha glycerophosphatidylcholine or choline alfoscerate) is a special form of choline found in food and the human brain. Unlike regular choline it is far more effective in raising Acetylcholine the main neuro chemical for memory and also increases phospholipids in the brain. It is also approved in Europe over a decade ago as a drug for clinically improving cognition. It is widely used for memory support, as an aid on for racetams, to reduce the risk of brain aging, and as a physical performance enhancer.
Alpha GPC improves memory and cognition, has anti-inflammatory effects, neuroprotective of the astroglial neurons, and benefits those who exercise.
Alpha GPC treatment may result in an increased rate of phospholipid synthesis, including the phosphoinositides available for signal transduction at central nervous system level.
Studies suggest best results with 300-1,200 mg daily.
