Description

The branched chain amino acids L-valine, L-leucine, and L-isoleucine enhance protein synthesis in liver cells and muscle cells and neurotransmitter synthesis. Because they can be oxidized in the cell’s mitochondria, the branched chain amino acids may also provide energy. They are used by body builders to produce an anabolic effect,improve mental and physical performance, and repair the microtears that are a normal result of exercise. BCAA reduces the perceived exertion and mental fatigue during exercise.

The branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) comprise the three essential amino acids L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine. Although amino acids are not considered important energy sources, BCAA’s serve as important fuel sources for skeletal muscle during periods of metabolic stress.69 Under such conditions, BCAA’s enhance protein synthesis in liver cells, muscle cells, and immune system cells, where they are used primarily as an energy source (rather than as a primary driver of protein synthesis as certain other amino acids might be). Dosage and Use
