Description          

L-DOPA is a naturally occurring amino acid found in the human brain and in certain plants (Macuna pruriens, or velvet bean). L-Dopa is produced from the amino acid L-Tyrosine in the body. L-Dopa is able to cross the blood-brain-barrier and convert into Dopamine. Dopamine is one of the main neurotransmitters (brain chemicals that transmit messages) involved in mood, focus, memory, motivation, and movement. Increasing Dopamine has been show to have positive effects in healthy adults.

Dosage                      

250-500 mg daily with juice or water. 

What works best with it?

EGCG (from Green Tea extract) acts as a natural decarboxylase inhibitor which helps prevent excessive levels of Dopamine from building up in the body rather than the brain.

 Quercetin acts as a natural catechol-O-methyl transferase (COMT) inhibitor that improves L-DOPA's conversion into Dopamine in the brain and helps prevent Dopamine breakdown.

Notes

Best used as needed or cycled if used consistently. Avoid taking in high doses with other compounds that potently affect dopamine such as other dopamine precursors (L-Tyrosine, D-Phenylalanine, L-Phenylalanine), dopamine agonists  (Bromocriptine), or MAO Inhibitors (Deprenyl).
