Sabroxy® is a standardized extract prepared from the dried bark of the Indian trumpet tree (Oroxylum indicum), contains a minimum of 10% Oroxylin A, to help improve memory and to support neuronal functions.

 

Oroxylin A is an O-methylated flavone, a chemical compound that can be found in the medicinal plants Scutellaria baicalensis and Scutellaria lateriflora, and the Oroxylum indicum tree.

 

The plant possesses an array of pharmacologically active phytoconstituents. Out of many phytoconstituents present in the plant, important bioactives are Baicalein, Oroxylin A, Chrysin, and its derivatives. The plant has been utilized in various Ayurvedic medicinal preparations to support immune function, cognitive function and a broad spectrum of pharmacological functions.

 

OA has demonstrated activity as a dopamine uptake inhibitor, and is also a negative allosteric modulator of the benzodiazepine site of the GABAA receptor. OA aids in cognitive function and neurogenesis, via it’s promotion of CREB and BDNF.   Oroxylin A has been shown to improve the neural health by protecting the nerves from chemical damage and by improving the levels of BDNF.
